| Jim Rattenbury was born in London in 1947. He has lived in Southern Spain and in Zürich, Switzerland. In 1987 he moved back to the UK. |

| Jim studied at the Gloucestershire College of Art, Cheltenham, UK; and at the Ravensbourne College of Art and Design, UK. He received the Private Sculpture Scholarship in Southern Spain. |
