| Valencia, Spain, 1930 - One of Spain’s best-known contemporary artists, Juan Genovés has been the leading exponent of SOCIAL REALISM, in the 1950s and has evolved to an EXISTENTIALIST style, in the later years. Amongst the most popular Spanish artists in the international scene, Genoves has participated at various Bienals, such as ones in Paris, Havana and Barcelona. An important retrospective of his work was held at the IVAM museum, in Valencia, in 1994.
