| Oriol Maspons is probably one of Spain’s most prestigious photographers. Born in Barcelona, the Catalan artist moved to Paris in 1955 and began writing for AF and socializing with celebrated Parisian photographers, such as Brassai, Cartier Bresson, Robert Doisneau, Guy Bourdin, etc. Upon his move back to Barcelona, in 1957, Maspons commenced his life as a photographer specializing in fashion and advertising. He first came into limelight when MOMA, New York acquired three of his phographs for their permanent collection, in 1958. Since then, Maspons has been published in PHOTOGRAPHY ANNUAL (U.S.) and PHOTOGRAPHY YEAR BOOK (UK), as a Star Photographer. BIBLIOTHEQUE NATIONALE, Paris also holds works by this artist, in their permanent collection. |
