| Born in Madrid in 1962, Oscar Alvariño received a doctorate in Fine Arts from Madrid´s Complutense University, where he is now an associate professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts. Caja Castilla-La Mancha. -Medal of Honour 1st Sculpture Invitational Toledo City Council. 1992.- Awarded Pámpana de Plata. Adviser for the control of denomination of origin of the wine of Valdepeñas. -First Prize in the V National Sculpture Competition City of Burgos. -First Prize in the Competition to design a medallion dedicated to Elio Antonio de Nebrija for the Plaza Mayor of Salamanca. 1990.- First Prize in the VII National Sculpture Invitational of Arganda del Rey Madrid. -Mention of Honour in the IV National Sculpture Competition City of Burgos. 1989.- First Prize in the VI Victorio Macho Awards for Sculpture Ciity of Palencia. 1988.- Prize for Sculpture in the II Castilla-La Mancha Awards for Plastic Arts Albacete Provincial Museum. -First Prize in the V PaladÃn Awards Salamanca. -First Prize in the II Antonio Machado Sculpture Invitational Madrid City Council. 1987.-Prize and aquisition at the IV Sculpture Invitational of Arganda del Rey Madrid. 1986.- First Prize in the Competition to design a medallion in stone dedicated to Miguel de Unamuno for the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca. 1985.- Doctor Plaza Prize in the Exhibition of Scholarship recipients from the Fine Arts Faculty of Madrid.
