| Hanoi, Vietnam, 1967 – An ESTABLISHED but young Vietnamese artist, Pham An Hai creates exceptional ABSTRACT paintings. The artist received a Bachelor Degree from Hanoi Fine Arts Institute in 1995. He is inspired by Hanoi streets and its old and fascinating buildings, like many other Vietnamese artists. However, An Hai has a refreshingly new, colorful, personal and abstract approach to depicting life in the city as well as in the villages. He often prefers to use the term SOULSCAPES for his creations. Pham An Hai has staged several exhibitions and received two awards by the Philip Morris Company's Painting Competitions in Vietnam. He was also featured in the Asian Art News Magazine in May 2001. |
