| UK-based Beth Carter is an exceptional and imaginative emerging sculptor. Born in 1968, Beth graduated in Fine Arts from Sunderland University, in 1995. From 1993 to 1994 she studied at the Cyprus College of Art and from 1991 to 1992 at the Academy of Fine Art in Sofia, Bulgaria. Prior to this, in 1990, she also completed an Art Foundation Year at Bath College of Further Education. She has held many exhibitions of her work around the UK, as well as abroad. In 2000 alone, she exhibited at many UK venues: Chapel Row Contemporary Art, Bath; Alders & Hobbs, London; Badcocks Gallery, Cornwall; Bristol Sculpture Gallery, Bristol; Royal West of England Academy, Bristol; Talks House Exhibition, Salisbury. Beth has works in private collections in England, Cyprus, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria. She has received numerous awards, including the Individual Artist Award from South West Arts in 2000, The Northern Arts Award in 1996 and the South West Arts Travel Award in 1996. |
