In addition to her exhibitions, June has lectured at Leeds University, Leeds College of Art, Grantly Hall College, Sherborne Arts Center and Ilkley College.

She has also served as the President of the Blandford Arts Society from 1994 to 1999.

My work starts in a straightforward way from direct observation and drawings. But it is not limited to a single point of view or perspective.

The paintings based on wood, in terms of structure and form, also have associations with landscape, and sometimes convert to landscapes.

These works are often concerned with kindling. A 13th century word whose meaning has not changed since then. It suggests settling alight and arousing, the kindling of friendship, love and the spirit.

The process is important to me and so is my study and admiration of painters like Braque, Picasso, Sutherland and Prunella Clough. There is no difficulty for me in the two paths and I enjoy the transformation of objects by working on them.
